Industry Assistance Program

The Industry Assistance Program provides a tax exemption when manufacturers and their contractors give preference and priority to Louisiana manufacturers or Louisiana suppliers, engineers, contractors and labor, except where not reasonably possible to do so without added expense or substantial inconvenience.

In considering applications for tax exemption, special attention is given to applicants agreeing to use, purchase and contract for machinery, supplies and equipment manufactured in Louisiana, sold by Louisiana residents and using Louisiana residents, engineers, contractors and labor for proposed tax exempt facilities.

The Industry Assistance program is available to existing businesses with operating facilities in Louisiana. The company must be able to demonstrate that with the tax exemption, as well as its current and projected operating business plan, it will continue to maintain current employment levels and commit to significant investment, allowing the company to grow and prosper in Louisiana.

This program is administered by the LED Board of Commerce & Industry.
