Entrepreneurship Day at the Legislature -- Thursday, May 29, 2008

Small businesses are a cornerstone of Louisiana’s economy and the innovation, drive and assertiveness of entrepreneurs are essential elements of the state’s business climate. These economic engines fuel the state's economy, creating jobs and growth that move Louisiana forward.

According to the Small Business Administration, Louisiana had nearly 365,000 small businesses in 2007, representing 97.6 percent of the employer firms in Louisiana. Small businesses also employ 55.2 percent of the state’s non-farm private labor force.

To celebrate the character and determination of small business, entrepreneurs and their service partners from across the state are invited to attend Entrepreneurship Day at the Legislature:

  • 1:00 p.m., Kick-Off, Louisiana State Museum
    (across from the State Capitol)
  • 1:45 p.m., Entrepreneurial Service Organization Exhibits
and Networking with Legislators, Capitol Rotunda
